Did you or the kids get inundated with Easter eggs this weekend? I’ve got some recipe ideas for ways you can use up that chocolate rather than eating it as it is. Plus, baking is a fun activity to do with the kids, it’s definitely one of Ella’s favourite things to do!
Rocky Road – Crushed biscuits, mini marshmallows & chocolate, what’s not to love?! Simply crush the biscuits into different sizes, add the marshmallows & melted chocolate and give it a good mix. Fill a lined baking tin with the mixture, level out and set in the fridge for a few hours then cut into squares.
Chocolate Rice Krispie Cakes – Melt together chocolate, butter & golden syrup, stir in the Rice Crispies and distribute the mixture into cupcake cases. Alternatively, you could fill a lined baking tin with the mixture, leave it to set in the fridge then cut into bars.
Chocolate Bark – Simply melt chocolate & smooth out evenly into a greaseproof paper-lined baking tin then add your choice of toppings- nuts, seeds, dry fruit, sprinkles, sweets etc. Pop in the fridge for a couple of hours and once hardened, break into shards.
Chocolate Topping For Cupcakes – Beat butter in a bowl until soft then gradually beat in icing sugar. Add melted chocolate and gently fold in.
Chocolate Fondue – Melt the chocolate in the microwave or a Bain-Marie and choose your desired selection of fresh fruits, biscuits, marshmallows etc to dip in!
